NIJ Part-Time & Full-Time (ND, HND, PGD) Admission Form - 2017/2018

The Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ admission form into the institution’s National Diploma Programme in Mass Communication for the 2017/2018 academic session is on sale. Admissions into Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma programmes are also current in progress.

Are NIJ graduates mobilized for NYSC? YES!! NIJ Grads are usually mobilized for NYSC. Like other graduates from universities in Nigeria, upon completion of the HND program, students who fall within the required age for NYSC and meet all other criteria are mobilized to serve in the National Youth Service Corps.

CANDIDATE ELIGIBLE FOR NIJ POST UTME – ND PROGRAMME.
1. Have 5 O’level (WAEC/NECO) credits, including English and mathematics at not more than 2 sittings.
2. Prospective candidates are to sit and pass last JAMB’s UTME with the general cut-off mark

CANDIDATE ELIGIBLE FOR NIJ HND ADMISSION.
1. Have a National Diploma certificate from a recognized institution with at least lower credit and 1 year post-ND industrial attachment experience.
2. Meet the requirements for entry level (that is have at least 5 credits in your O’level result in not more than 2 sittings).

CANDIDATE ELIGIBLE FOR NIJ POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA (PGD) ADMISSION.
1. Have a good HND or University Degree in any discipline
2. Show evidence of participation in NYSC or exception letter

How To Apply For Nigerian Institute of Journalism Admission For 2017/2018
Candidates are to go to the admission portal at http://portal.nij.edu.ng/, choose the programme they want to apply for and fill in their information. Please be informed that you have just 30 minutes to complete application online. There may be data lost if more than that.

You can always log in to continue your application before the deadline and don’t forget to print out the application slip when done. It may be asked for during your entrance exam.

Application Closing Date
This year application for admission will close on Monday, July 31, 2017. All completed forms must be submitted online before this closing date.

ABUAD Undergraduate Admission Screening Results - 2017/18

The Managements of the Afe Babalola University has released the Post-UTME undergraduate admission screening exercise results of all successfully screened applicants for the 2017/2018 academic session.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR ADMISSION STATUS AND PRINT ADMISSION LETTER
  1. Go to https://admissions.abuad.edu.ng/under/CheckAdmission
  2. Enter your jamb registration number in the space provided and click on “Check Admission Status”
  3. The next step is to pay the Acceptance Fee
  4. In case you need to choose another course (only applicable for some applicants), click on “Select Course” and choose any of courses available on the dropdown menu. Click on “Accept Admission”

ACCEPTANCE FEE PAYMENT: There are two options for payment of Acceptance Fee:
    
(i) Online Payment and (ii) Manual Payment Online payment:

  1. Pay the Acceptance Fee online with your ATM card and gain access to print your admission letter immediately.
  2. Enter your email address and phone number in the spaces provided and click on “Pay Acceptance Fee Online now”.
  3. In the next screen, check and confirm the transaction details by clicking on “Confirm and Pay Now”.
  4. In the next screen pay with your ATM Card by clicking on “Select your card type”. Select your card type, enter your card number, expiry date, CVC2, card pin and click on “Pay”. Kindly print out the receipt of your payment if the payment is successful.
  5. With a successful payment, you can now download and print your admission letter.

Manual Payment:
Pay the Acceptance Fee at any of the designated banks (listed online) and bring your proof of payment to Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti to collect your Admission Letter.


If you paid Acceptance Fee online and the payment is successful, you can proceed to the University student portal immediately (http://portal.abuad.edu.ng ) to set up your account and familiarize yourself with the University community as well as paying school fees.

David Tobiloba Adeyemi Of ACU Wins the Lagos Model United Nations 2017 Idea Fair

A student of the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, David Tobiloba Adeyemi, has won the Lagos Model United Nations 2017 Idea Fair. The event is a three-day International Relations simulation Organized by the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos, to provide an opportunity for participants to interact and use debates and other methods of communication to bring solution to African and World issues.

The theme for this year is Innovation, Diversity and Development for Global Sustainability.

At the event, David Adeyemi, who is a 300 level student of Micro Biology at Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, applied for the Ideas Fair, which is a novel concept introduced as one of the events for the 2017 edition. His idea was considered the best and he was given the start-up capital of ₦200,000 (Two hundred thousand naira).

In addition to the display of diplomatic and oratory skills by the delegates during the conference, the Idea Fair seeks to engage the entrepreneurial, Problem-solving and creative minds of the delegates by requiring them to proffer solutions to issues of both national and international concern through pragmatic, sustainable and entrepreneurial projects from over 1200 youth delegates , with overwhelming potential to contribute to social change, development and sustainability in their respective localities.

David submitted a proposal called  "Project ENERGEM",meaning (Energy Generated from Methane).

It is based on how to  promote sustainable living among individuals in poor and disorientated communities by providing indirect mass employment, sustainable power supply, recycled irrigation water for farmers and bio fertilizers which are all twice cheaper than all their product competitors in the market, using Organic Waste Recycling.

After extensive screening at the preliminary stage by the judges, Project ENERGEM was shortlisted amongst the Top 10 final projects. David was  the only private university student shortlisted in the final round against 9 other University of Lagos [UNILAG] students.

After a seven-minute powerpoint presentation to the students and submission of  3 hard copies of his proposal to the judges, David was declared winner.
He was presented the startup capital grand price which is ₦200,000 (Two hundred thousand naira)  by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos courtesy of Oxfam International.

David says he intends to use the start-up capital to set up ENERGEM Mini Power hub in lagos, which will commence with providing people with easy access to power to  charge their phones and other electronic gadgets. He said the project will expand over time.

The Vice Chancellor of Ajayi Crowther university, Rt. Rev. Professor Dapo Asaju, has congratulated David  and expressed happiness that the Entrepreneurship training undertaken by students in the university was yielding fruits. He promised that the university will also reward David for doing it proud.

UITH (SOCT) 2017/18 Full-Time ND Admission Form on Sale

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into the National Diploma (ND) full time programme of the School Of Orthopedic Cast Technology for the 2017/2018 session.

Applicants must be candidates who sat for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted in March, 2017. The candidates must have a minimum score of 150 to be qualified to apply and to be screened. 

 

Method of Application

Applicants are to proceed to the UITH Ilorin website, www. Uith.org to download and print out the admission form.

Payment of N5,000 into UITH school complex revolving fund account through remita.

 

Admission Requirement/Entry Qualifications

In addition to a minimum score 150 in 2017 UTME. Prospective candidates must possess a minimum  of 5 credits SSCE/GCE �O� level or its equivalent at not more than two sittings, which should include a credit pass in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other two courses.
 
In addition to above, candidates will be selected based on their success in a written entrance examination & oral interview. Subjects for the competitive entrance examination and oral interview. (a) English Language (b) General paper (c) Mathematics (d) Biology. The examination will be based on SS3 syllabus.
 
Candidates selected for admission will be required to pass medical examination. 

 

Duration of Course

Two (2) calendar years commencing from October, 2017 (Full Time Programme).

Accommodation is available at affordable fees on first come, first serve basis. 

 

Selection/Interview Dates

Dates for screening Exercise/Oral Interview have been fixed as follows:-
  • Writing Examination:- 28th August, 2017. 
  • Screening/Interview:- 30th August, 2017. 
Venue:- University of Ilorin teaching Hospital School Complex (Former Maternity Hospital) Amilegebe, Ilorin.

 

Other Relevant Information

1. Candidates should please note that late completion and submission of forms will not be entertained. 

2. Any candidates with blurred or unclear passport photograph on the form will not be admitted for the screening exercise as the photograph will be used as a means of identification. 

3. Any candidate who fails to present himself or herself for the screening exercise as scheduled  will not be considered for admission 

4. Applicant are advised to attend the exercise with the detached slip from their application forms as well as their writing materials. 

5. The use of GSM and other electronic devices will NOT be allowed during the screening exercise. 

6. Photocopies of relevant documents must be clear and legible. 

7. Evidence of change of names where applicable, must be attached to the application form. 

8. The result of the screening exercise shall be published on the Hospital website and on the schools notice boards.
